                Dear  Consumer,

Our goal at Metal and Wood Crafts is To produce the finest quality hand made gas & electric light at an affordable price, yet keeping the4 tradition of hand crafting each and every light. Our natural gas (open flame) light, both exterior and interior, operate on a tuned combustion chamber theory, so they flicker with the enchanting appearance produced only by open flame lighting. All light frames are hand made from 20 ga. (.32) copper. Hand riveted with copper tinner rivets. the valves and screws are of solid brass, springs and screens are stainless steel to ensure long life. Glass used in our lights are double strength plate glass, mounted with bumper pads to allow for expansion and ensure proper placement of the glass. Angled copper retainer strips and brass screws secure the cushioned glass. All brackets are solid steel construction, chemically and electrically cleaned. Spray painted with two coats of zinc chromate primer, then finished with a tough polyurethane enamel. At present we offer four mounting brackets that include hoop (ceiling mount), wall, corner, and post mounts for the basic carriage light typical of the New Orleans French Quarters. We in fact manufacture the street lighting in the historic downtown district. Keep in mind that our lights can be tailored to your specific needs, or have us design a custom light especially for you. Box type lights are another style we offer to choose from.

Now for the most important decision, choosing the burner. Our burners are hand crafted porcelain tipped, this allows us at Metal & Wood Crafts to reproduce various flame styles, dating as far back as the 1700's. We offer flame styles that are appealing and produce the highest illumination possible with open flame lighting, yet consuming a minimal amount of natural gas. The Bat-Wing flame, popular in 1802 was recreated in our light using one burner. And in 1990, our own creation, The Fleur de Lis. Which ever design you choose, each burner is tested to quality and correct flame style before shipping.

Remember, for the finest quality gas and electric lanterns available, choose Metal & Wood Crafts.

                                                                  Thank You,
